Getting married abroad is becoming increasingly popular with many amazing wedding destinations to choose from.
Destination weddings & wedding packages overseas are usually non-religious civil ceremonies. However religious weddings are usually possible in many locations for many faiths. Services vary in style, but as long as the ceremony does not contravene with the marriage laws of your country the wedding will be completely legal and you will not need to registered when you get home.
Many couples opt to bring family and friends with them to be there on their special day, but if it is just the two of you, witnesses can usually be easy to arrange. If you are travelling alone make sure you have a video taken to share with everyone back home. Most wedding destinations can cater for all tastes - whether you desire a simple or extravagant wedding day.
If you wish to marry abroad you must make sure you know and follow the marriage laws of that country. Normally you will require formal proof that you are free to marry. Often if you use a tour operator they will advise you on these matters.
