Inexpensive Ways For A Memorable Ceremony!
  • The night before your wedding, write a card to your fiancé/fiancée to let them know just how special they are to you. You can include a poem or words to a special song.

  • Wear your mother's or grandmother's wedding dress. If age has discolored it, take it to a bridal gown restorer to have it cleaned and restored. Another special touch would be to carry a replica of your mother's or grandmother's bridal bouquet.

  • Surprise your guests by hanging copies of old wedding pictures of them at the end of each pew. You can place the photos in a paper-matted frame and hang them with a pretty ribbon. It will keep all your guests guessing as to who is who.

  • Have your ushers give each guest a piece of fabric as they enter the church or reception. Have each guests sign their name and write a message to the bride and groom. When you're back from your honeymoon and you're all relaxed, sit down and sew the squares together to make a very special quilt.

  • Right after the ceremony, gather all your guests on the steps of the church and have your photographer or a friend take a group shot. Then get the negative and make copies and send them to your guests along with your thank you notes.

  • After the ceremony, if possible, chime the bells of the church while all your family and friends are gathered together giving you best wishes.

  • If you have children from a previous marriage, consider writing them their own wedding vows. It will make them feel extra special.

  • Have all your guests sign a magnum of champagne and celebrate your first anniversary with it.

  • After you exchange your vows, have your parents come up to the altar with you and tell them how special they are to you.

  • At the end of the ceremony, hand each mother a rose.

  • Take the handkerchief that your mother or grandmother carried on their wedding day and tuck it into your bouquet or have it sewn into the hem of your dress.
